M.E.T. is a group of extremely hard-working and ambitious people, combined with an extraordinary entrepreneurial network. I want to create or join a startup, and one of the things that was really attractive about the program was that I could meet and learn from all these amazing entrepreneurs who have done exactly what I want to do.

My favorite thing about M.E.T. is the fact that it’s a small experience inside a big school, and that means you get the best of both worlds. As part of the M.E.T. program, you get the care, environment, and cohort experience that exists within a smaller school. But you also have the advantages of being part of a big school, a large institution like Berkeley.

The most special thing is the culture of care that exists. College can be a stressful time, but everyone I’ve met that’s part of the M.E.T. community is super willing to pause whatever they’re working on to help you if you need it. It’s really special to have that type of community from Day 1.

The M.E.T. double degree combines the best of UC Berkeley’s world-renowned College of Engineering and the Haas School of Business. Not only am I learning from professors who are major contributors to their fields, but Berkeley’s proximity to Silicon Valley, the heart of tech innovation, makes this the best place in the world to be for computer science and entrepreneurship.

What sets M.E.T. apart from any other kind of dual degree program out there is that it’s based in the Silicon Valley, the tech center of the entire world. You can’t possibly be in a more rigorous, challenging, and inspiring environment. Then, you have Berkeley’s top tier engineering and business programs. I honestly think it can’t get much better than that.
